Weekly Product Highlight
Every week I will be highlighting a different product that I have either used myself, or has come to me highly recommended. This week’s product is the DockATot. This product hit the market between my first and second babies. With my first, I basically created the shape of a DockATot out of blankets. My first born was only five and a half pounds at birth and she got lost in her bassinet. I wanted to ensure that she felt secure while laying inside of it. I would tightly roll blankets and tuck them on either side of her body. She absolutely loved the warmth and security this provided her. So, when I was pregnant with my second and someone introduced me to this product, I knew I had to have it. I loved it so much that I ended up buying two!
The founder of this company is a mama just like me, who was in search of the absolute best products for her kids. They are manufactured in Sweden. Every material that goes into the manufacturing of the DockATot is selected with her own children in mind. I love this so much and I can absolutely relate to it. All materials are hand selected and go through a rigorous testing process to ensure their quality. DockATot uses a certification called Oeko-Tex Certification. The difference between Oeko-Tex and Organic certification is that the former ensures that no synthetic or toxic chemicals were used on the material past the growing phase. The Organic certification will tell you that during the growing phase, the material was grown organically. Oeko-Tex certification goes well beyond that. It follows the material from start to finish. For me, this is incredibly important. I am a firm believer in keeping toxic materials as far away from babies delicate skin as possible. All parts of the DockATot are easy to wash and re-assemble. They make so many attachments for babies to enjoy while they are awake.
We used our DockATot for so many things. We took a family vacation when our youngest was just 2 months old. She slept in her DockATot in bed between my husband and I. In fact, both our younger babies co-slept with us in their DockATots for several months. It made us both feel secure having that buffer between us and the baby, while still having them in bed with us. Our babies used to nap anywhere in their DockATot’s and this made my life so much easier. I could have the baby napping near us at all times. Now that I have used this product, I cannot imagine my life without it. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. I still cannot believe how well it held up.
