Product Review~Bumbleride
Today, I am so excited to get back to writing product reviews! I am going to start back up with Bumbleride strollers. When I found out I was pregnant with our 4th baby, I had just sold or given away all of our baby gear. We are basically starting over. This time around, the quality and construction, as well as materials used, are incredibly important to me in selecting our gear. I have done several hours of research on low toxic brands for just about every gear item out there. Bumbleride came out on top for low toxic strollers. When Bumbleride was founded in 2004, the owner sought out the best possible working conditions. They found a family owned factory in Taiwan that had fair wages and 5 hour work weeks with no overtime. These strollers have been constructed in small batches, in small factories in Taiwan, where the working conditions are just as important as the quality of construction and the materials being used.
They choose their materials based on the lowest environmental impact on the planet. They also care more about the quality of materials than they do saving money. They really focus on sourcing from small manufacturers who take pride in their materials and footprint. They have 5 different strollers to choose from, in up to 6 different colors. Their Eco fabric is PFAS free and made from recycled PET. The handles on some models are made from non-toxic, anti-microbial cork. The Dusk color ways are made from poly/wool fabric that is certified by the Responsible Wool Standard. They were one of the first companies to include flame retardant free materials. The best feature in my opinion is the air filled tires. They make for a smoother ride. All materials are PVC, BPA and Phthalate free. According to the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, all fabrics and padding are Class I certified free from harmful chemicals. This small company really believes in giving their families the very best options for non-toxic gear.
There are 5 different models to choose from. They offer a twin side by side stroller as well as an all-terrain version. On top of that, they have 2 jogging strollers to choose from. I have decided to go with the Era which is more of an everyday stroller. I chose this stroller because it has a reversible seat option. The nice thing about this line is all the tires are on the larger side, which makes every model somewhat of an all-terrain stroller. I most likely will not be taking this stroller out on the beach, but it will absolutely be heading out to the baseball field and to Disneyland with us! Bumbleride is currently in the process of launching their new stroller lines! The Indie Twin is available and the Era and Indie launched yesterday. The joggers will be available in the next month or so. There is so much more information on their website that I did not include. Please check it out and happy shopping!
